Your Treatment

All charges include the remedy prescribed. I don’t charge extra for short conversations by telephone, or email support between appointments. It is always possible to schedule a telephone call if parents want to discuss a difficult situation about their child in confidence, either before or after the appointment.

Treatment fees are as follows:

  • Adult Initial Appointment: £75  
  • Time: Up to 2 hours

  • Time: Up to 1 hour

  • Child Under 16 Initial Appointment: £55
  • Time: Up to 1 hour

  • Child Under 16 Follow-up: £43  
  • Time: Up to 1 hour

An additional £10 will be charged for adults and children when there has been a break of over three years since the last appointment.

Your remedies

Remedies should be stored in a cool, dark place away from strong smells, such as tea tree oil. It is best to avoid eating or drinking anything for about 15 minutes either side of taking your remedy, to ensure you have a clean mouth. If your remedy is in pill form, tip it into your mouth via the bottle cap without touching it, if possible, and allow it to dissolve under your tongue. Liquid remedies, or LM potency remedies, will be supplied with instructions.

Please do not discontinue any prescribed drugs without first discussing it with your doctor. 

Some non-medicinal substances that have been known to interfere with the action of homeopathic remedies are mint and coffee. It is best to avoid these and use non-mint toothpaste, especially for a few days after taking your remedy. A good alternative to mint toothpaste is the Kingfisher brand of fennel toothpaste, available in many branches of Waitrose and Sainsburys; from good health food shops or from Helios Homeopathic Pharmacy.   

Remedies can be administered to infants either in soft tablet form, or by crushing pills between two spoons, or by dissolving the tablets in a small amount of cooled boiled water and giving in liquid form.

Please consider avoiding the use of antiperspirants as they interfere with the body’s natural attempts to detoxify. Deodorants are a healthier alternative.

Your response to your remedy

The changes may be minimal at first and, as part of the healing process, some people may experience a ‘homeopathic aggravation’, a term which describes a short-lived slight worsening of symptoms. Your remedy can also sometimes promote a physical or emotional cleansing response, which may take the form of a cold, a skin eruption, diarrhoea or an emotional discharge such as tears or anger. This is the body’s own healing response and a sign that the remedy is taking effect. Symptoms should not last long and it is best if they are allowed to happen without interference. Sometimes symptoms from the past can also return fleetingly but usually will disappear soon of their own accord. Thereafter, people often report an enhanced feeling of calm and wellbeing, even before their specific symptoms have improved. If in any doubt or discomfort please contact me for advice.

The first follow-up usually takes place about a month after the initial appointment and lasts up to an hour. When you attend your follow-up appointments it would be very useful if you have kept a record of any changes or reactions that you have felt, including any vivid dreams, strange sensations or unusual memories from the past. Your feedback and observations are the most valuable asset in the treatment and will help me to decide on the next prescription.

In the event of acute illness for which you feel you may need medical help please phone me for advice. Your long-term treatment will be enhanced by appropriate management of acute illness.

My Availability

When you call my home number you may have to leave me a message, but I will get back to you as soon as I can and usually before 9pm the same day. 

I work at The Heeler Centre in Hassocks on Tuesdays from 9am-1.30pm and all day Thursdays, from 9am-7pm, but it may be possible to schedule appointments outside of these times by prior arrangement. Follow-ups can be arranged on Skype once I get to know you, if you have difficulty attending appointments.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment, I ask that you give at least 24 hours' notice, as this time may be valuable to someone else. Where this amount of notice is not given, a charge of £20 will be payable, except in extenuating circumstances.
